It's better when they do not play together. In case you were not paying attention when Fekir came back Isco was not injured and Pellegrini eventually did play them together. It was average at best. Two CAMs or attacking midefielders are not going to work just because they are both great players. There must be balance

Of course that wasn't ideal, but we still saw on occasions how well the two of them can combine on the pitch. With a real nr. 9 up front and if both are fit, you will see...

@@purelyessence Mancity played with 3 midfielders with fernadinho as the CDM. Betis play a 4 2 3 1 with 2 holding midfielders. So in other words one of these two Isco or Fekir have to go to the wing where they are not that effective. Unless Pelegrini changes the formation. And remember that WE HAVE SEEN THEM PLAY together just a few weeks ago before Isco got injured. Fekir and him had been playing, and don't forget the new signings that Pelegrini bought and they will have to get playing time. Especially Fornals, Bakambu and Avila. These 3 have all shown good performances so far when they appear.

You need to attack Betis to get a result. I was in Seville to watch Betis in a European game with Rangers, the winner went on to the last 16 and the looser went in to the poor conference league, Rangers destroyed them that night. And all you Could hear in the high up stand was Rangers fans. With every Betis fan looking on in disbelief, even though Rangers beat them in the home leg also under a fraud of a manager! But under a new manager we beat them up. I’m surprised that more teams haven’t looked at that game as a guide to beat Betis. I like Isco and Rodriguez but they don’t play with passion, and there manager is an old fool who wrote off a club like Rangers. Foolish old man- needs to retire and go fishing 🎣

@Tremendo-hq5rl Come on. They have built a team to try to compete in European champìonships. They just lack that plus or extra to make it far in those competitions. Eintracht Frankfurt had to beat them in OT at home when they became champions of Europa League.
