Because starting a brand new back line away from home is not a good idea. He ended up having to utilize all the players, I would have rather he start strong and sub off rather than start poorly and frantically make subs. It is reactive rather than proactive

GK mistakes happen especially when you have a two players who haven’t started together as defenders. We literally couldn’t have made those comebacks without Ter Stegen in goal . He’s saved us more times than he’s made mistakes. So I don’t understand this inconsistent narrative. The whole team is inconsistent I’ll agree but injuries and players coming from them alter the team a lot. We saw that when we faced Bayern, Man U, Inter last season. Those games all had at least 2-3 key players out due to injury and a bad VAR calls (ansu fatis supposed hand ball which could’ve helped barca make it out of the group). And that is exactly why Xavi came out with this set of starters. He needed to rest players as any manager should. Using Courtois and Allison as examples are ridiculous. Being consistent in an overall season is more impressive than being the best in a tournament. Because in a season you have to be exactly that CONSISTENT. And Ter stegen has been the most consistently great goalkeeper in the last 7 years. Playing your best in the champions league but losing the league title and the national cup makes it seem that you only try in the “important games” and that’s what Allison and Courtois are. They’re inconsistent and they only get the limelight due the champions league runs they have. Nobody ever talks about how good they play in their respective leagues because that’s what current brainless football fans care about. The champions league and nothing else. And of those 3 only one has won a treble and a couple more trophies that a treble allows.

it isn't just them focusing in attacks but also injuries . araujo has just come back from being injured kounde and christensen had to be rested cuz they played every single game so far this season romeu was slugish and didnt react to duels fast enough . pedri and de jong injured possibly 2 of our most important players for this system that xavi is using . but you have to give credit to mallorca aswell had 3 chances and scored 2 goals out of them . muriqi was on fire goal and assist .

El primer gol no fue error de Ter Stegen, Oriol Romeu fue el que andaba dormido.

Sí, Romeu no aportó nada en este partido, pero en el primer gol Stegen cometió un error en el pase y confundió nuestra línea defensiva, él es quien tiene la responsabilidad de eso.

Si para mí se equivoca en los 2 goles el primero es obvio el segundo no debió salir el delantero del Mallorca no iba tan derecho al arco y Araujo hubiera llegado a cubrirlo antes que llegaste más adentro

Araujo pudo haber bloqueado el segundo gol, pero pensó que Stegen salió a encarar al delantero del Mallorca y se vio sorprendido por la presencia del portero delante y chocó con él, lo único que tuvo que hacer Stegen fue quedarse en la portería. y dejar que Araujo haga su tarea defensiva, eso lo sabe muy bien y espero que no vuelva a suceder.
